I've announced something exciting coming to Print Swap. Here's the press release...
Marc Godfrey-Murphy, the face behind local illustration business, MarcoLooks has announced that the inaugural Print Swap tour will stop at Spark this October, as part of a collaboration with Drawsome and Young Thugs, for York Design Week.
Last month, MarcoLooks launched the Print Swap, which allows artists across the UK and beyond, to submit six prints, five of which will be redistributed to the other artists taking part in the programme, with the remaining print entering into a debut exhibition at Rural Arts, Courthouse in Thirsk.
York Design Week 2021 will be running from 20th-26th October, during which time, all the Prints taking part in the MarcoLooks Print Swap will be featured in an exhibition in the arts space at the back of Spark. Drawsome will be taking over the whole space with a curated arts market which will be open for the public to own some local pieces for themselves.
Richard Corrigan, director of Drawsome and Co-Founder of York Design Week, says:
“We’re really excited to be collaborating with MarcoLooks Print Swap for this year’s Drawsome and York Design Week. It’s shaping up to be a really exciting event showcasing local music talent, courtesy of Young Thugs Records, alongside the Print Swap exhibition. We’ll also have drop in workshops and activities for all the family, with all relevant Covid precautions in place of course!”
Passionate about supporting the community of indie artists, and the importance of celebrating collaboration over competition, Marc went on to add:
